My practice is often process oriented and usually grid-organized. Currently it is going in two different directions.
The first direction visualizes action or information over time, looking for pattern in large amounts of information, seeing it in a new way, and sometimes allowing me work my way through information that is upsetting, but significant. Past sources include weather patterns of India’s monsoons, demographic information of US troops killed in Iraq, and current and historic weather data. Most recently, as global warming brings climate change, I focused my work on documenting current and historic weather to see those changes. The second direction of my work has been evolving over the last few years, and looks at the order of things in my life – such as images taken from my garden that are abstracted layouts of plants, vegetables and amendments. These images are formed from my ideas and labor.
