2020 has given us artists, quite a bit to work with. The range is staggering. And it’s not over yet.
The people in power, not only in 2020, have always seemed to me to fail to grasp the impact their decisions and actions have on people and the environment. Many times the impact is physical, as well as psychological.
As a representational, figurative painter, I found it irresistible to respond in my paintings to the current year’s world and domestic issues. In my work I interpreted the themes that, for me, floated to the top. My approach was a combination of anxiety, anger and some humor, for balance.
